my life since graduation
Having graduated from college in May of 2002, I feel the need to summarize my life hence in all of its gloriousness.

Since graduation, I've moved to Western Massachusetts. I spend my time educating silly New Englanders about the glories of Southern Food and insisting that they problematize their own region before dissing the South.

My apartment has turned into a veritable petting zoo, with 2 cats, 2 fish, 1 rabbit, 1 hamster, and 1 snail. I had a brief fascination with Hello Kitty, then unusual cat diseases. But lately I've focused my attention on the equally unjustified topic of rabbit physiology, specifically the formation and composition of bunny puss. I have created an entirely new genre of music dedicated to extolling the virtues of my furry friends.

I have had random internet hookups and attended women only orgies in Boston. I have been cybersexed by semi-famous people. I have fallen deeply in love with my best friend, only to hear that she is so busy trying to get her life in order that she cannot commit to a relationship. Currently, my love life is fair to ailing.

I've had career ADD of the worst kind. I have been fired and I have quit; my average employment stint lasts 2.5 months. I have filed for sexual harassment and threatened ex-employers (social work agencies) of filing complaints against them to the state ethics board. Currently, I am surviving on a combination of telemarketing for nonprofits and brief encounters on with a variety of temp agencies. I briefly flirted with the idea of attending law school, before settling on the fact that I really just want to go to grad school.

I have made some lovely new friends. Every Wednesday I watch the patriarchy parade across the screen as I watch my new pop culture obsession, The Batchelor.

I’ve been in a major car accident and gotten kicked out of one of my residences.

Thank god I’m still in psychotherapy.
